10. Jordan Crawford 6-4 Sg Xavier
Crawford came into the national spotlight by dunking on LeBron James. Still he has managed to showcase other skills at Xavier. In the tournament, he scored 28 points in his first game.
9. D’Sean Butler 6-7 Sf West Virginia
Butler has helped lead West Virginia to win the Big East tournament and join the Final 4 as the unlikely representative from the Big East. He has averaged more than 17 points a game the past two seasons.
8. Gordon Hayward 6-8 Sf Butler
Hayward has helped lead Butler to become the “Hoosiers” of the NCAA Tournament. He is a good shooter and is projected to be an NBA lottery pick.
7. Wesley Johnson 6-7 Sf Syracuse
Wesley Johnson can shoot rebound and run the floor. He averaged 16.5 points a game for Syracuse, shooting better than 50% from the field and better than 40% from three point land
6. Derrick Favors 6-9 Pf Georgia Tech
Favors averaged 12.5 points a game along with 8.5 rebounds and more than 2 blocks. Although he is a freshman, he is expected to enter the NBA draft this year. He is a very strong athletic player who reminds me of Amare Stoudamire.
5. Eric Bledsoe 6-1 G Kentucky
A short sharp shooting guard, Bledsoe reminds me of a young Joe Dumars. He scored 29 points in the first game of the tournament and can play either the point or shooting guard position.
4. Demarcus Cousins 6-11 Pf Kentucky
Cousins reminds me of a young Rasheed Wallace. He is the great rebounder and inside player with a lot of toughness. He averaged 15 points and almost 10 rebounds in his first and probably only year at Kentucky.
3. Xavier Henry 6-6 Sg Kansas
Xavier Henry is an excellent shooter and athlete. He managed to average 13 points and shoot 41% from three point range this season for the Kansas perennial powerhouse basketball squad.
2. Evan Turner 6-7 G/F Ohio State
Turner is a 6-7 point guard in the mold of Penny Hardaway. Turner averaged more than 20 points a game along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. He has an excellent field goal percentage and can hit the three as well.
1. John Wall 6-4 G Kentucky
Wall is the quickest basketball player I’ve seen since Allen Iverson. He has excellent ball handling ability, court vision and great leaping ability. He is a great individual scorer but also a team player. He averaged more than 16 points and 6 assists on a stacked Kentucky team this year.
