Polling location: Know where your current polling place is located. It will be listed on your voter registration card. Remember that it may have changed since the last time you voted.

Do not wear campaign merchandise: Most states don’t allow it. Play it safe and dress neutral.

Get a Sample Ballot: Many counties have sample ballots located on their websites. Review so you’ll know what the issues are in your county and which candidates you want to support.

Bring Snacks: To avoid dizziness and dehydration. Have water and healthy snacks on hand.

Bring your ID information. Be sure you have a valid ID, passport and/or drivers license when you vote. Check with state requirements to find out what types of ID are required for you to vote in your state. If you’re not sure, bring EVERYTHING, including a photo ID.

Help others to vote: Assist new residences, the elderly, the disabled and those without transportation.

Children & Voting: If you are bring a small child with you…bring their stroller. They will enjoy it better than being told to stand still. Bring a few books and toys to keep them busy.

Working & Voting: If you are voting during work, keep in contact with you employer by calling in or texting to keep them informed of your wait time.

Dress comfortable: You may be in line for a while. If it is cold bring a jacket with you.

Motivate: Encourage those who haven’t voted to come with you.
