American Idol is ringing in its 400th episode with Mary J. Blige tonight.
The Queen of Hip Hop/Soul is mentoring this season’s top 13, who will take on the sounds of Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder this week.
Blige follows Sheryl Crow, Beyonce and Lady Gaga, who mentored “hopefuls” last year.
Riding high on the single “Mr. Wrong” and her latest album “My Life II: The Journey Continues, Act I,” Blige will return to to “Idol’ stage for a performance Thursday.

American Idol season 10 runner up Lauren Alaina will also appear on the results show. She will be performing her hit single “Georgia Peaches” (“Wildflower”).
American Idol airs both Wednesday and Thursday night at 8/7c on FOX.
