Due to our lifestyle and career choices, we often put happiness on the back burner for when we have time for it. This isn’t to say that we don’t love the people we are with. Whether you’re single or married, or even like the career you have, we are often too busy to focus on the NOW. We have a tendency to focus too much on our “TO DO List”, instead of our ‘Purpose’, and because of this our purpose often never gets fulfilled. The best way to overcome this tendency and discover how to find happiness, is to focus on what really matters in your life.
This is not to say you should leave your job or make some big life change in order to find purpose in your life. But it is about slightly tweaking your focus and being more comfortable with yourself. Take for example being single. There are two types of people in the world. Those who are single because they can’t find a compatible partner and those who are single because they want to be. If you are single because you can’t find someone, there is a good chance that you won’t find happiness unless you find your soul mate. This is a shame, because you can have it both ways – you can find happiness while your single and searching for the one, and be happy when you find someone. It is all part of a journey to find happiness and each part of it deserves your happiness.
