LOS ANGELES (AP) — Disney’s acclaimed “The Help” will need no help against a trio of 3-D newcomers, sweeping up around $20 million to top the domestic box office chart on its second weekend out.

After debuting in the No. 2 spot last weekend, the film about sisterhood in the racially divided 1960s’ South has lead the midweek derby on strong word-of-mouth and should closet a total of $70 million by Sunday night.

Fox’s late-summer hit “Rise of The Planet of the Apes” clung to the top rung at the box office for two consecutive weekends but in its third time out, it will battle the debuting “Conan the Barbarian” for second-place in the mid-teens for a total through Sunday of around $130 million.

A remake of the 1982 fantasy epic, Lionsgate’s “Conan” updates the tale in 3-D and puts pumped-up Jason Momoa in the role that made Arnold Schwarzenegger a movie star. The film delivers the R-rated sword-and-sandal intensity to a new generation of action fans, who should reward it with a solid opening.

The weekend’s two other 3-D arrivals are expected to debut in the low-teens, with Weinstein Co.’s PG-rated “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D” and the R-rated Disney horror remake “Fright Night” tangling for the fourth and fifth spots on the chart.

“Spy Kids 4” is the latest installment of the successful franchise and the brainchild of noted R-rated action director Robert Rodriguez. Adding to the novelty factor is a “fourth” dimension called Aroma-Scope, which will enable an interactive scratch-and-sniff experience for the entire family.

“Fright Night” is an update of the 1985 horror film of the same name that blends elements of horror and comedy in the story of a teenager who suspects his neighbor is a vampire. Colin Farrell takes on the vampire role, while Anton Yelchin plays the suspicious teen.
