Sinbad is back! The veteran funnyman is using his found-again fame for a good cause this weekend. On Friday, Aug. 19, he’s heading to Texas Southern University, one of the nation’s largest historically black collges and universities, for a comedy show that will benefit students at the school.

The “Back to School Laugh Out,” starring Sinbad, takes place at TSU’s Health and PE Arena on the TSU Campus. Proceeds from the comedy concert will benefit the school’s Joshua McMackle TIGER project, a mentoring program for TSU freshman started a year ago by TSU President Dr. John Rudley to help students graduate on time in four years. The TIGER project helps incoming freshman with tutoring, fellowships, scholarships, field trips and books.
