The Butler Bulldogs advance to the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament after beating Texas-El Paso 77-59. UTEP went into the locker room after the first half with a six point lead, but it was Butler’s patience and 3-point shooting that quickly found the Bulldogs with a double-digit lead. Butler’s 3-point shooting was so hot, they broke the record for the amount of 3-pointers made by a team in the opening round of the tournament.

Butlers next opponent will be the very fast paced giant killer Murry State, who upset 4th seed Vanderbelt with a shot at the buzzer for a 66-65 victory. The two teams meet on Saturday, and the winner of that game will move on to the Sweet Sixteen. GO BUTLER!!!
