Legendary singer and sonwriter, Smokey Robinson sat down with Tavis Smiley, after his performance at The White House’s Salute to Berry Gordy and the Legacy of Motown. During the conversation Smokey, talked about the words of wisdom he gave El DeBarge 10 years ago, warning him of the dangers of drugs. He went on to say that there was a time that drugs played a role in his own life. With Smokey’s firsthand knowledge, you would think El would have listened, sadly that wasn’t the case.

The good news for EL is that he is in rehab for what some say was a relapse, (that hasn’t been confirmed). Smokey Robinson was on The Tavis Smiley Show to promote his new project entitled “Now and Then”
