     Talk This seems obvious, but when two people in a relationship talk, it helps the couple trust one another. Trust is especially hard with someone you’re in a relationship with because that person has the power to hurt you. However, by practicing constant communication and an open and honest relationship, trust can be slowly built, or rebuilt.

  • Step 2

    Forget the PastDon’t hold on to the hurts of the past. Everyone’s been hurt, and you need to work through those issues, not hold on to them and shove them in the other person’s face. This will only make things worse, and won’t resolve anything at all. The important thing is to not dwell on the things that happened.

  • Step 3

    Focus on the Present Don’t let your mind think about the bad things that could happen. When you focus about the things that could happen, you’re heading down a road that destroys trust. Banish negative thoughts and think about what IS happening, now what could happen.

  • Step 4

    Take It SlowlyTake the whole thing slowly. Take it day by day. Communicate. Build trust slowly and don’t expect all of your walls to come crumbling down overnight – it takes work.
