This weekend, “Zane’s Sex Chronicles” heats up the small screen, while Wesley Snipes, Don Cheadle and Richard Gere heat up the big one with their New York City cop drama, “Brooklyn’s Finest.” Sports is still king on TV as college basketball gears up for its marquee event and March Madness counts down the Final Four in April.

Here’s what’s up this weekend …

ON TV:

All times listed are Eastern.

Friday, March 5

“Zane’s Sex Chronicles,” 12 a.m. on Cinemax

Zane’s books come to life in some very attractive packages, as Patrice Fisher reprises her role as corporate exec by day, erotic writer by night in Season Two’s premiere. Expect this season to be hotter than the first, as the show is now Cinemax’s highest-rated series ever.

Saturday, March 6

“Oprah Winfrey Oscar Special,” 9 p.m. on ABC

Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz, George Clooney and others show up for the annual special, where Oscar winners and nominees talk to each other.

Sunday, March 7

82nd Academy Awards Ceremony, 8 p.m. on ABC

Will Mo’Nique take home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Precious?” Tune in early, as it’s usually one of the first acting awards given out. Gabourey Sibide is also nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal as Precious. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin co-host.

ON SCREEN:

“Brooklyn’s Finest,” starring Wesley Snipes, Ethan Hawke, Don Cheadle and Richard Gere (R)

Strong performances boost this cop drama, Antoine Fuqua’s New York answer to his 2001 hit, “Training Day.”

Depp and Bonham Carter team up with Tim Burton for what is sure to be an interesting, visually-compelling take on the classic children’s book.
